I’ve experimented with many formats for this Substack.
Long-form musings, audio podcasts, and a tribute or two.
Nothing seemed to stick.
In an online world that rewards consistency, I thought I was being lazy, or fickle.
Turns out I was exploring life and work on multiple levels - mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - and homing in on what feels true.
This past year, I’ve been integrating my spiritual work with the (mostly) technical/intellectual roles I used to have. That inner yin/yang struggle is real, an ongoing quest for balance that’s played out my entire life.
I've seen that same struggle play out in the collective and, for the last decade or so, I've plumbed its depths through many lenses e.g. (geo)politically, civically, culturally, and cosmically.
Through it all, music has been a constant companion, a way to soothe my soul as we all navigate the chaos and uncertainty around us.
This is what feels true, and right, for this Substack right now.
Make music on live video.
So I can meet you, and get to know you, in real time. Because I’m all about breaking the fourth wall between a performer and their audience.
So I can share those soul-soothing vibes with you live. Because good music becomes greater, when we experience it together.
So I can (fingers crossed) breathe new life into this Substack. Because I know there are many cool people who walk the halls here, and I’m excited to get to bump into you more often.
I’ll see you real soon! ✌️🎶
